CAREER NOTES:

Mesfin Adimasu scored his first World Marathon Majors points with a fifth place finish at Berlin in September 2007. He knocked almost a full minute off his marathon debut time at Rotterdam in April 2006. In between he also ran 2:19 at Paris in the spring of 2007.

Adimasu ran his second marathon on German soil at Hamburg in April 2008 and again ran 2:10. Retuning to Berlin, he replicated his fifth place position of the year, edging out Joseph Ngolepus by five seconds.

In one of the fastest marathons for depth in history, Adimasu set a PR of 2:09:32 with a seventh place at Paris in April 2009.
