CAREER NOTES:
Helena Kiprop Loshanyang had two consecutive second place finishes in Dutch marathons (Amsterdam 2006 and Rotterdam 2007) when she decided to compete in her first World Marathon Major at Berlin in September, 2007. Even though she dropped down a place, she was rewarded with a PR of 2:26:27.
Kiprop was also sixth at the very competitve 2007 World's Best 10k (32:43).
Prior to the Berlin Marathon she did compete much in 2008 although she placed sixth at the Ras Al Khaimah International Half-Marathon (1:12:35) in February. She ran aggressively at Berlin and despite slowing in the second half was rewarded with a PR of 2:25:01 and a second consecutive third-place finish.
