CAREER NOTES:

When Negari Terfa finished third in his marathon debut (2:13:19) at Porto, Portugal in October of 2008 it didn't attract much attention.

Terfa's next marathon, although a superb 2:09:01 second place by ten seconds at Xiamen, China also went largely unnoticed. He then competed at Los Angeles, falling to a fifth place, 2:10:53 finish.

But his third place peformance at the 2009 real,-Berlin Marathon in 2:07:41 jumped him up to the elite world-class level.
