CAREER NOTES:

Mockenhaupt had won a fall marathon in Germany for the past three years leading up to 2010, but even though she placed fourth at the real,- Berlin race, she was rewarded with a new personal best by one second.

She previously competed in the marathon there at the 2009 World Championships and although running 2:30:07, it was the fastest 17th place time in history. Berlin is also the site of her fastest half-marathon, a victorious 1:08:45 in 2009.

Mockenhaupt has a strong track background. She has twice competed in the Olympic 10,000m with a 15th (2004) and 13th (2008). In the latter race she ran a PR 31:14.21.

Since 2002 she has competed at distances from 3000 to 10,000 meters in the World Championships, European Championships, World Cup, World Indoor Championships and European Indoor Championships.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Sabrina ("Mocki") Mockenhaupt was born in Siegen, and, to use an expression, chose her parents well in regards to marathoning. With her 2:26:21 PR, this family holds the all-time mother (Hildegard, 2:40:41 PR)-daughter marathon record and the all-time father (Alfred, 2:24:59 PR) –daughter record. She also has a twin brother, Markus, although he currently is a bit slower than her. Mockenhaupt has been a member of the German Army sports team and won a gold star for sharp-shooting.
