Virgin London Marathon Course Map

The Virgin London Marathon is more than just a marathon, being a celebratory sporting festival which attracts fields in excess of 35,000, from elite runners to charity fun runners who raise many millions each year. As a largely flat course around the River Thames, it’s conducive to fast times and significantly has massive crowds lining the route to cheer runners on their way.

The course starts at Blackheath and takes in many of London’s famous sights along the way including the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Cleopatra’s Needle, the House of Commons, Westminster Bridge, and finally finishing in the Mall, alongside St James's Palace, with Buckingham Palace looming large behind you. It’s a totally unforgettable experience which keeps people coming back time and time again.
