Run for Charity
Since formalizing its charity program in 2002, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon has generated more than $45 million dollars for a variety of charities. Each year, non-profit organizations build teams of runners who commit to run the Chicago Marathon while raising funds for the cause of their choice.
All registered runners have the opportunity to make their marathon more meaningful by signing up to run for one of the dozens of charities that partner with the Chicago Marathon each year. In 2008, more than 100 non-profit organizations took part in the program, registering more than 8,500 runners who collectively raised more than $10.5 million.
