CAREER NOTES:

After proving himself in a few races in Addis Ababa, the young Wodajo ran his first international marathon in Seoul, a city where he has competed four times. At his 2002 debut, he ran an impressive 2:09:51, which was good enough for the fourth spot. Three months later he went to Japan and finished runner-up at the Beppu-Oita Marathon. He earned another fourth at Seoul in 2004, and was named to the Ethiopian Olympic squad. His highest finish was an impressive win at the 2006 Cologne Marathon.

At the 2007 Boston Marathon, he claimed the fifth spot, just one second behind the fourth place finisher. This was Wodajo's sixth marathon where he took a top five place. In September he ran his first Berlin marathon, finishing in 11th place.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Wodajo trains in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, with his Global Athletics teammates including Boston Marathon Champion Hailu Negussie. He began running at an early age and in 2001 finished as the runner-up at the Addis Ababa Marathon, which is run at 2500m above sea level.
