CAREER NOTES:
Tsuyoshi Ogata was fifth at the 2007 IAAF World Championships Marathon and instrumental in leading his Japanese teammates, Satoshi Osaki and Toshinari Suwa, to the team title.
He was the bronze medalist at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki and also competed in the 2003 World Championships in Paris.
Ogata has run at a high level at the Fukuoka Marathon in Japan. He notched his personal best of 2:08:37 there in 2003 and a year later was the champion there.
