CAREER NOTES:

This has been a breakthrough year for Stephen Kwelio Chelamy. He lowered his PR to 2:10:22 at the Tiberias Marathon in January, won his second consecutive Dalian (China) Marathon in April and wound up a surprising second place at Berlin in September. He had been pacing the second group of competitors there but decided to persevere through the finish as he chopped another two minutes off his best time.

Chelamy was formerly based in the New York City area where he ran for the Westchester Track Club
