Run for Boston Medical Center’s TEAM BMC!

Boston Medical Center’s (BMC) mission is to provide consistently excellent and accessible health services to all in need regardless of status or ability to pay. With more than half our patients earning an annual household income under $19,600, BMC has a special focus on meeting the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community – the poor, the underserved, the uninsured, and the underinsured.

TEAM BMC helps raise awareness of Boston Medical Center’s mission and supports our ability to offer the necessary services and programs to meet our patients’ needs. Some of the exceptional programs at Boston Medical Center include: The Kids Fund, Cancer Support Services Fund, the Preventive Food Pantry & Demonstration Kitchen, Nutrition and Fitness for Life and so many more.

As a general rule hospital philanthropy derives from one’s grateful patients. BMC patients are extraordinarily grateful and it’s a gift to serve our hardworking and often times struggling patients. Yet, the overwhelming majority of our patients are not financially capable of expressing their gratitude through philanthropic support. Therefore, fundraising and the TEAM BMC Boston Marathon Program are very important to providing the resources necessary for BMC to adequately serve our patients. TEAM BMC’s goal for 2008 is to reach the $300,000 mark.

Whether you are a first time or a veteran runner join the TEAM BMC family as it trains for the experience of a life time – the Boston Marathon!
