There are more than one million children in state institutions in Central and Eastern Europe growing up in poverty, fear and misery. Millions more are orphaned by war and conflict and it is estimated that by 2010 there will be 15.7 million children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Hope and Homes for Children (HHC) is working to give these children a family and a future.
