2022 Highlight #10 | The return of a full marathon calendar!

We start our highlights of 2022 with a simple one; the continued return of marathons to the calendar! 

After the trauma of the pandemic that brought such despair to our sport, to finally see full corrals of athletes at so many start lines around the world, not just the Majors, has been a source of immense satisfaction to us all. We can’t wait to see Tokyo back to full strength in 2023.

That final push towards the finish line in Grant Park, Chicago.

The last two years have been an immense challenge to both races and competitors and their return this year is a testament to the commitment and dedication of all those involved in helping to make our races as successful as they can be.

From the fancy-dressed runners coming up The Mall to the crowds of spectators that lined First Avenue as thousands turned off the Queensboro Bridge, to see our races return to near full strength has been the result of a huge amount of work done by the organizational teams of each race and we’re so proud of all the work that they do. It’s made us even more excited about what we have to come ahead of us in 2023 and beyond.
