This year we have seen more women aged over 70 collect their Six Star medal than ever before. Whether they are superwomen like Denise Amaral who collected her third Six Star medal in London or Gina Little who completed her Six Star journey on her way towards completing her 602nd marathon. (She’s probably done more since, we need to check in with her and get an update!)

It shows that age is no barrier to achieving something you set out to do. The drive and determination that these women and many others like them show is an inspiration to all of us whether we are striving to get a place at that last race or just looking back on completing your first marathon.
