Fujisawa wins fourth AGWC title

AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championship 2025 - final results

Mai Fujisawa won her fourth consecutive AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championship title after an impressive run in New York City.

The Japanese runner, who ran 2:55:52 to win the the 50-54 category, had previously won in London, Chicago and Sydney.

Fujisawa was one of two champions from Sydney who retained their title in New York.

American runner Gwen Jacobson won the 65-69 category in a time of 3:17:57.

Krishna Stanton became a two-time winner with victory in the 55-59 category. She ran 2:54:29.

Two runners in the men’s categories backed up wins last year with impressive podium finishes.

In the men’s championship, Portugal’s Fernando Vilela clocked 2:47:47 to finish third in the 65-69 category

Martin Fluckiger, of Switzerland, came third in the 75-79 category in a time of 3:46:22.

There was a new championship record in the 80+ category with Chris Gould finishing in 4:21:04, beating the previous best by 30 seconds.
