2022 Highlight #6 | Deena Kastor gets her Six Star medal!

We welcomed many new members to the Six Star Finisher Club (981 to be exact), including one special entrant who began her journey back in 2001, and has experienced a few highs along the way!

Most people will be familiar with her as a former holder of the US marathon record, Olympic bronze medalist, and past winner of the Chicago and London Marathons, but Deena has always been such a huge supporter of the Six Star program that it filled us with real pride to be able to welcome her into the club at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON in September. And as a special treat, we even gave her her own podcast!

After finally earning her medal, she said: “It’s more special than I had imagined. I think it’s more special than any individual medal that I have hanging at home. From the moment I laced up my shoes to posing with a Six Star medal 42km later, the Berlin Marathon over-delivered.”

Piper Kastor presents her mother Deena with her Six Star medal.

We’re so proud to continue working with Deena and we’re excited for what 2023 has to come.
