Jepchirchir provisionally suspended

Abbott World Marathon Majors is disappointed to learn of Peres Jepchirchir’s provisional suspension following an adverse finding arising from an out of competition test, as announced by the Athletics Integrity Unit today.

We fully support every effort made in the fight for clean sport.

Under our rules, in addition to any punishment imposed by World Athletics, national federations or any national anti-doping agency or government, any runner who has been found by such body to have committed a doping offence (at any competition or out of competition) and has been subject to a ban of three months or more, shall be banned from all WMM events for life unless otherwise agreed by WMM and be ineligible any time to receive any WMM prize money or WMM points.

Jepchirchir is entitled to due process and AbbottWMM will make no further comment until any due process has been completed.
