Vote for your Sydney performance of the day

The four winners of the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS make up the shortlist for the race's Performance of the Day.

The marathon community can vote for Addisu Gobena, Peres Jepchirchir, Daniel Romanchuk or Manuela Schar as their standout performer from Sydney.

Who will you vote for?

Addisu Gobena

The 21-year-old announced himself as one to watch after winning his first Abbott World Marathon Major. The Ethiopian, who finished second last year, waited until the final downhill section to establish a narrow lead which he didn’t relinquish, crossing the line in 2:04:42, a new course record.

Peres Jepchirchir

The legendary Kenyan further cemented her status as one of the sport’s greats by winning her fourth Major title. A former New York, Boston and London winner, Jepchirchir remained calm despite falling 23 seconds behind Priscah Cherono. She took charge of the race after the 30km, eventually winning by 3:40 over Irine Cheptai.

Daniel Romanchuk

The American cut an emotional figure after winning in Sydney. After enduring a difficult 2025, where he missed out on races due to injury, Romanchuk dominated in Australia to win his first Major since November 2024, smashing Marcel Hug’s course record in the process.

Manuela Schär

The Swiss legend created another moment of history by becoming the first female to win all seven Abbott World Marathon Majors titles. Schär had Eden Rainbow-Cooper for company for the first 25km but once she pulled clear victory was inevitable. Her 1:42:04 was almost three minutes quicker than Susannah’s Scaroni’s course record from last year.
