Second Rankings Edition Extended

In light of the changes to the regular racing calendar this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to extend the second edition of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings.

All qualifying marathons taking place until 31st December 2020 will now be included in the 2nd Edition. For the list of events that have been added to the 2nd Edition, click the link below.

Additional Rankings Edition 2 Events

So, if you have a race scheduled between October 12, 2020 (what was supposed to be the first day of the 3rd Edition) and December 31st, any rankings points earned will count in the 2nd Edition.

PLEASE NOTE: No virtual-only events staged by any 2nd Edition qualifying event will be used to award ranking points.

Runners in qualifying positions at the end of the Edition will be in contention for an invite to the 2021 AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships.

The Virgin Money London Marathon on 3rd October 2021 will play host to the World Championships that will include the top age group runners from both the first and second qualifying series’.

The number of places awarded to each age group category in the 2nd Edition of the Rankings will follow the same process as the inaugural series, with 700 places on offer allocated as outlined HERE. There will be no additional allocation to the highest scoring runner from each nation represented.

The 3rd Edition of the rankings will begin on 1st January, 2021. The closing date and venue for the 2022 AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships will be announced in due course.
