Win a place in every Major!

To mark the 20th year of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, we are teaming up with our Official Tour Operator Marathon Tours & Travel to offer the greatest prize in sport.

The prize

‍One lucky person will win entry to all of the Majors including accommodation courtesy of the Marathon Tours & Travel team PLUS a travel budget from AbbottWMM.

This means you will have the chance to run the original six Majors, completing your Six Star Journey along the way.

But it doesn’t stop there. You will get the chance to run in stunning Sydney and, should their inclusion be confirmed, Cape Town and Shanghai, with the potential to chase all nine stars.

You will be well-looked after too. As well as your accommodation, you will be invited to social events, welcome receptions, shake out runs, pre-race dinners and post-race celebrations.

We will make sure you get to the expo and start line plus a member of Marathon Tours & Travel will be on the ground to provide any help you need.

We will also give you a $10,000 travel budget.

It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any runner.

Who can apply?

We are looking for a storytelling superstar who can tell the world about their remarkable journey by filming and posting content on their social media channels. You will film, take photos and post about this epic adventure, sharing what makes marathon running so unique.

But how you use your phone is just part of the criteria. Are you inquisitive about the Tokyo running culture? Will you be happy meeting fellow runners in London and telling their story? Can you immerse yourself in the giant block party that is the New York City Marathon and bring it to life on social? This isn’t just about your running, it’s about the people you meet and the places you visit along the way.

Don’t worry if you are early on in your marathon journey or don’t think you are quick. You don’t need to be on a quest for PBs, but on a mission to tell everyone about the inspiring world of marathon running.

Do I have to run them all in one year?

No. You will have two years to complete your incredible journey. You will also get the chance to plan which order you run the Majors.

Aubrey will complete his Six Star Journey in Tokyo

We have two prolific marathon runners and industry-leading content creators who will have the difficult job of creating a shortlist and selecting the eventual winner.

Aubrey Mvula has completed six Majors and will pick up his Six Star Medal in Tokyo in March. You might know him better as @bigger.than.running on Instagram, where he has 22.1k followers.

Liz Newcomer has run 11 marathons, including London four times, where she lives having moved over from the USA. She has trimmed off almost two hours off her PB since she started marathon running. She has 42.3k followers on Instagram.

What is the judging process?

Our judges will select a shortlist from all the entries. They will then arrange video interviews with each of them before deciding who wins a ticket for the World Tour.
